About Haderech

"To meet the roots; not only of the addiction..."

Haderech – (Hebrew) “The path” is a unique retreat located in Northern Israel, where personalized treatment goes hand in hand with the rehabilitation experience.

The program has been operating since 1992 with over 86% success!

What Do We Do? The path is a unique program where personalized treatment goes hand in hand with the rehabilitation experience. We provide an excellent service for the treatment of mental health problems and addictions, licensed by the Israeli anti drug authority and ministry of health. Our facility offers relaxation away from the stresses of everyday life, with a wide range of programs. Whether you are concerned about your own health, or that of a friend, colleague or family member, feel free to contact us in the strictest confidence and we will help you.

The Haderech Treatment Center is the first and only licensed Twelve step therapeutic community in Israel and the Middle East. The model that guides treatment at the Center regards dependency on mood-altering chemicals as a chronic, progressive disease which, in the absence of effective treatment, may well be fatal. This dependency is one of the five basic addictions: chemical (illicit drugs, alcohol and/or pills), food, gambling, work and sex.  Addiction of whatever kind is not a moral issue; just as persons with other chronic disorders need to be treated and not blamed, the addict too needs treatment.  On this basis, the members of our professional staff use their skills to create a structured therapeutic rehabilitation program.

Haderech treats recovering addicts for periods up to eight months.  The treatment efforts are directed toward enabling these troubled persons to develop sound living habits and to participate in an intensive program of individual and group therapy.  The program seeks to equip them with the tools they will need for successful re-entry into their home communities.  While in the program, they receive complete (including psychiatric) medical treatment.

There are also extramural activities such as cycling, art, drama, and yoga and there is an extensive program for women, including women who have been diagnosed as suffering from emotional disorder in addition to their addiction.  For participants, most days begin at 6:00 A.M. and end at 10:00 P.M.

The day combines work in the community, individual and group therapy sessions, and Twelve Step theory and practice.
